Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign sells 2 Million Copies on it’s first day of release, will get new patch next week to lower difficulty of Solo playing

Elden Ring Nightreign is turning out to be a surefire success as the game is confirmed to have sold 2 Million copies on it’s first day, announced directly by publisher Bandai Namco. The huge numbers certainly indicate a massive interest in FromSoftware’s latest title by gamers worldwide, along with cementing the fact that the devs clearly managed to achieve what they set out to do with Elden Ring Nightreign.

“Pre-orders and early sales have pushed the game beyond the incredible 2 million units milestone,” states publisher Bandai Namco. The Multiplayer co-op title lighted up the Steam charts after release and saw a staggering 313,593 peak concurrent users worldwide which clearly shows that Elden Ring Nightreign is a hit, by all accounts and metrics in gaming.

The huge success of Elden Ring Nightreign wasn’t really much of a surprise considering Elden Ring was a massive hit with over 30 Million sold units so far. Even it’s expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree had sold over 4 Million units within three days of it’s release back in 2024.

However, despite the massive players counts, Elden Ring Nightreign is still currently at a ‘mixed’ rating from gamers in Steam, which is largely attributed to the game’s lack of two player co-op, brutal and unbalanced difficulty when going solo and lack of voice chat functionality.

Although the developers have already announced that the game is set to get it’s second update titled patch 1.02 in next week addressing it’s unfairly difficult solo experience along with other gameplay related issues. The upcoming patch will add a “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat” function in the game which will allow players to revive their characters once per night boss battle, to solo expeditions, and will increase the amount of runs gained.

Here are the early patch notes as posted by FromSoftware in their Twitter/X account:

The following improvements for solo expeditions will be added to the game: – The effect “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat”, which allows revival once per night boss battle, will be added to solo expeditions. – The amount of runes gained will be increased.
