Nexon, the developer of The First Descendant, has revealed an exciting new update coming to the Battle Pass for the game’s upcoming Season 3, as reported by Video Gamer. The online looter shooter, despite mixed reviews, achieved over 10 million downloads within a week of its release, topping Steam’s best-sellers chart. However, the game struggled to maintain its initial player base, losing over 90% of players within the first six months.
To entice fans back, Nexon has been adding new Descendants, game modes, and more. Season 3 will introduce a Common skin as a Battle Pass reward for the first time. This skin will be themed around the new season, with Nexon acknowledging fan feedback on the Battle Pass’s value. Season 3 is expected to launch in June 2025.
Nexon has released a hotfix for The First Descendant, enhancing rewards in Void Erosion Purge. The update also improves endgame activities and addresses bugs.
While details on the Season 3 update are limited, The First Descendant received significant updates in March. The newest Ultimate Descendant, Ultimate Blair, was launched with Skill Modules to increase Crit stats and apply burn damage. The Challenge difficulty was added to the Void Erosion Purge mode, offering new rewards.
The “Episode 2” update for Season 2 in March brought new story content and the Descendant Serena. Nexon also introduced the “Arche Tuning” system, allowing players to optimize builds for different Descendants.
Nexon hopes the Season 3 update will recapture the game’s initial success. The First Descendant is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game is rated Mature 17+ for Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes, and Strong Language. Developed by Nexon Games and brought to reality by Unreal Engine 5, the title seeks to provide an engaging Action RPG and Third-Person Shooter experience in the best graphics and performance possible.
