Miyazaki claims in an official Nintendo interview that Single Player titles such as Elden Ring, which will release for the Switch 2, are still being made. People were angry at the fact that the legally distinct Bloodborne, titled The Duskbloods, is just a multiplayer game with zero single player elements. This is a big hit, considering the fact that most Souls-like titles always had multiplayer in them but it was never the focus. Single Player games won’t die in any shape or form, perhaps Triple A titles will opt to abandon them and move to online only slop, but indies will still keep the industry safe from collapse. It is sad to see an entire generation of kids having to live with shallow and forgettable titles. Most probably can’t count at least 10 titles that are true works of art in these decades. This of course excludes indies from the table, since we are speaking triple A stuff over here.
