Zenless Zone Zero Leak Hints at Hugo Vlad Design Changes in Version 1.7

Zenless Zone Zero Leak Hints at Hugo Vlad Design Changes in Version 1.7

There was a recent Zenless Zone Zero leak that showed Hugo Vlad, a character that has been highly awaited to be revealed in Version 1.7, has experienced major design changes. Leaked information indicates that Hugo’s in-game model has been changed in several aspects, such as his lean body, his larger ears, and his redesigned scarf.

Hugo Vlad’s New Design in Version 1.7

Hugo Vlad’s appearance has been tweaked according to a trustworthy Zenless Zone Zero source donuleaker following his first appearance in Version 1.5. Perhaps the most striking change is the omission of his light-blue scarf and its replacement with a shorter scarf draped over his back. His arms have been shortened, too, so he’s lean instead of muscular.

Others have also noted that Hugo’s new model has fuller hair, a slightly bigger head, and longer, more vampiric ears. These seem to be in reaction to player feedback since HoYoverse had earlier confirmed that there were some updates being done to the character’s design. However, the developer did not provide any details on what would be altered.

Fan Reactions to Hugo’s Redesign

When Hugo Vlad was initially released in Zenless Zone Zero’s 1.5 patch, fans were upset at the disparity between how he appeared in-game and how he appeared on official artwork. The Version 1.7 changes try to bring him closer to what fans desired, but only time will tell if the new look is received positively.

Hugo Vlad won’t be the sole new character in the game for Version 1.7. His Mockingbird counterpart, Vivian, will be included as well, and leaks indicate that there is another surprise Mockingbird character, Robin, who will be included.

With Version 1.6 dedicated to developing more on Zenless Zone Zero’s narrative and adding new content, the next patch should try to build on that momentum. Whether or not the redesign of Hugo will please fans or create even more controversy will be determined once the patch is finally released.
