Call of Duty: Warzone is returning its popular Battle Royale map, Verdansk, after over three and a half years on April 3. Activision officially revealed the tactical map (Tac-Map) of Verdansk, revealing to us which Points of Interest (POIs) will be returning.
Originally released with Warzone in 2020, Verdansk was the most recognizable Battle Royale map in franchise history. It was usurped by Caldera, however, in December 2021 with Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Season 1—to fan dismay.
Since its initial release, Warzone has had various new maps, such as Al Mazrah and Urzikstan, added but none that have managed to generate the same nostalgic and enjoyment factors as Verdansk. Activision is now finally responding to years of pressure from fans to bring it back, as they do with the release of Season 3 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
With the official tac-map finally released, the fans should now be able to drop into some of the veteran POIs, such as:
In a detailed explanation of the Tac-Map, Stadium’s rooftop will be shut down, like it was during its former seasons. However, Activision hasn’t released news about Stadium’s interior yet.
After the tremendous success of Fortnite OG in 2023, when Epic Games returned to having old maps as permanently preserved, numerous Call of Duty enthusiasts have wondered whether Verdansk will remain.
Informed leaker TheGhostOfHope reports that Activision has plans to overhaul Verdansk by means of Black Ops 6’s season updates and beyond. Although not officially stated, this implies that Verdansk will get updated over time instead of vanishing once more.
Season 3 May Introduce Back Classic Modern Warfare Guns and Operators
Besides returning Verdansk, Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 may also welcome back some of the most favorite guns from the Modern Warfare era.
A recently released Warzone video seemed to tease the coming back of:
Leaks have also indicated the return of some of the operators from Modern Warfare, including that notorious Roze operator skin. Official confirmation awaits, however, when the entire Season 3 roadmap is published.
With Verdansk’s return scheduled for April 3, Warzone players are mere weeks away from diving into one of the most popular Battle Royale maps in Call of Duty history.
