Call of Duty: Warzone Leak Suggests that Verdansk POIs Could be Returning in Season 3

New leaks imply that some of the most well-known points interest (POIs) of Verdansk could be returning in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3. The leak was reported through a Twitter thread by reputable Call of Duty leaker HeyImAlaix, which states that up to 19 POIs are returning along with the map’s purported return.

Verdansk, the first Warzone map, is a fan favorite with many feeling that it’s the best battle royale map in the series. Rumors have it that the map might be returning with Warzone Season 3, and that might go hand-in-hand with the release of Black Ops 6. The return of Verdansk has generated quite a lot of buzz, and fans are looking forward to playing old favorites such as Storage Town, Atlas Superstore, and Krovnik Farmland.

The leaked list contains a combination of old points of interest and some newly designated areas. Old points of interest that are returning include Zhokov Boneyard, Prison, and Grazna Bridge, while obscure names such as Block 17 and Jarvdinsk Spomenik indicate the map might get some layout changes. It is not known whether these changes would make a big difference in the layout of Verdansk or just be new names for existing spots.

The return of Verdansk is rumored to be borrowed from the Modern Warfare (2020) iteration, which was initially released in March 2020. This is seen by many as Warzone’s golden era and thus the most reasonable option for the developers to bring back. It’s just as probable that the new Verdansk may have some minor adjustments in order to balance out gameplay or bring in new mechanics introduced in recent Warzone patches.

Although nothing has been verified, this type of leak is business as usual with the Call of Duty community, particularly prior to large-scale seasonal updates. If Verdansk returns, the map would be a great nostalgic touch in Warzone, providing veteran players and more recent joiners alike an opportunity to enjoy one of the game’s all-time top battle royale environments. With Season 3 looming, the fan base will be eagerly watching to see more news on what is potentially the largest map comeback in franchise history.
