Ubisoft App breaks Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Steam Deck

Ubisoft blunders yet again with the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on PC and Steam Deck. It seems that thanks to many software slop being pushed into the new release, including Denuvo Anti Tamper, the game barely works on Steam Deck. To top it all, thanks to the Ubisoft App, players are unable to reliably play this new game on the go. The Steam Deck is one of the most convenient devices made by Valve to streamline the process of making gaming portable. However, it seems that many developers do not respect the existence of the system. We at Infinite Start will like to cover what’s happening.

Ubisoft blundering away

Many say that this is the most important game that Ubisoft needs to try and stay afloat. After a very long string of blunders, it seems that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a very divisive title due to many issues that it caused. Now, even more issues are piling up for this release that is meant to save the company from being ruined. However, trying to fix Steam Deck compatibility is a very hard thing to pull off. Adapting to many systems is often complicated due to the different configurations that each one bring.

Despite the divisiveness, the press gave the game decent reviews, while stating that it is still a divisive title. Leaving aside all the controversies that do not bring anything to the table, the game is only Assassin’s Creed in title. Assassin’s Creed Shadows changes many aspects of the series, and there’s barely any sort of stealth to be had. ARPG systems bundled in with a game that is meant to primarily be a Stealth game causes a lot of issues. Enemies are supposed to be taken down instantly with assassinations, trying to not be seen is key to have success in these games. Assassin’s Creed Shadows and previous titles do not respect the original trilogy.
