Teardown to Add Multiplayer This Spring

Teardown to Add Multiplayer This Spring

Teardown enthusiasts will have something to smile about, as Tuxedo Labs revealed that the game will be getting multiplayer support this spring. The feature, arguably the most demanded since the game’s release in 2022, is merely another addition to the game’s sandbox destruction and heist action.

A Long-Awaited Feature

Teardown has been updated many times since its release, adding new maps, characters, and a creative mode which adds depth to the destructible voxel world. Paid and free content have been added, providing players with lots of different ways to play with the dynamic destruction mechanics of the game. The latest free update added playable characters, with paid expansions adding new maps for players to explore.

With multiplayer mode officially in the works, gamers can anticipate playing crazy chaos with friends in the near future, resulting in an even richer and more volatile gaming experience.

What’s Coming Next for Teardown?

Though information on the multiplayer update is still limited, Teardown’s official roadmap does give some insight into what comes next. According to the roadmap, three more updates are in the works following the addition of multiplayer:

  • DLC 3 and DLC 4 (content specifics unknown)
  • “QUILEZ R0113R ROBOT” (new spawnable robot addition)

We do not know yet if multiplayer will be included in DLC 3, but it also does not seem likely, given past paid DLCs have been map-based and not gameplay additions.

Teardown Continues to Evolve

Even with Teardown’s “Very Positive” Steam rating, some players have complained at the price of paid DLC versus the quality of the main game. Still, the inclusion of multiplayer is guaranteed to breathe new life into the game and solidify Teardown as one of the most innovative sandbox games out there.

With multiplayer arriving sometime this spring, gamers will soon be able to gang up for heists or cause mayhem together, so Teardown’s already enjoyable gameplay will be even more immersive.
