Steam has managed to remove Sniper Phantom’s Resolution

Steam is one of the biggest stores for PC gamers to get their games. However, they sometimes fall prey to hackers who wish to take over it. Sniper Phantom’s Resolution was a “game” that jeopardized all users who tried to download its demo. This asset flip project was clearly just a Trojan horse waiting to steal personal information from everyone who played it. Thankfully for us, Steam did its best to fight it off and it got removed from the store. They need to be more careful with the things they green light, and they should especially remove “AI” slop too. We at Infinite Start will cover this hacking and gaming news.

A win for Steam

Most of the time, the malware titles that are uploaded on Steam are primarily crypto miners disguised as games. This time, a pseudo keylogger and information stealing software was the thing that got bundled with the game. Keyloggers are known to be severely dangerous to the privacy of users who get infected by one, and they are almost imperceptible to the regular person. Keyloggers, as the name imply, record every single key stroke you do on your PC, in hopes of trying to get password, credit card data, and more.

Windows nowadays is extremely vulnerable to virus attacks and vulnerabilities, and along with many other issues, it is one of the worst operative systems one can use. Linux on the other hand does not have to worry about dealing with viruses, having such a small market share helps with protection. Hacking Linux is a hard task to accomplish for the regular scrub hacker that tries to run some batch script on your system. If you are a gamer, Linux is also improving vastly, especially with the upcoming release of SteamOS to the public.

Gaming has never been better in the operating system that wields a penguin as its standard, and it can only get better with each passing day and update.
