Seasons of Solitude

Seasons of Solitude has an ongoing playtest for PC players

Seasons of Solitude has a playtest enabled for those who are on PC. This new survival experiences combines hexagonal maps with a bunch of rogue-like mechanics. Along with this, leaving aside other survival games in the genre, this one is one of the first Turn Based titles in the genre. This brings a breath of fresh air into the always open world, first person survival games that often plague the indie scene. It is good to be able to do the game that you wish to do, without following any trends. The indie space is vast, and it is nice to help the developers get a boost for their project. We at Infinite Start will cover this new indie title.

Seasons of Solitude coming soon

There is still no proper release date for this new title, perhaps it won’t even come in 2025. What players can do however, is request access to a closed playtest. The game’s look is reminiscent to the older Age of Empires titles in a way, with some fog of war effects as you traverse the map. By traveling, you reveal new hexagons in the map that expand your view of the world you survive in.

Progress through levels by achieving specific goals and securing resources. Use these resources to unlock powerful tools and abilities outside of runs, expanding your capabilities for future challenges. You can also automate key tasks, and try to brave the environment before it gets harsher. Survival games are often tense experiences, and despite this one being turn based, we have a feeling that there’s plenty of times players will die. Rogue-likes are cruel games, but they reward skillful play from those who are determined to master them.

If you are interested in this new title, you can try to enter the closed playtest on the Steam page. If you couldn’t enter but wish to support the game regardless, put it on your wishlist to boost the developer.
