Fray is basically a what if scenario for many PC gamers. What would happen if you combine your history classes with your favorite N64 classic? The answer is in Fray, an intense hack and slash arena fighter where warriors from five ancient civilizations such as the Aztecs, Egyptians, Greeks, Japanese, and Vikings battle for supremacy. The cool thing is that, unlike Smash Bros, this is actually a fully original game with similar flavor to it. You actually build your fighter with different equipment that you find through the arena. We at Infinite Start will cover this new hack and slash experience coming to PC.
Enter the Fray
Maps are deeply interactive and based on bits and lore from these ancient cultures. Similar to Smash Bros, we can expect some obstacles and other Stage Hazards to be a part of many. Maybe there will also be a stage where there is nothing, basically a Final Destination sort of deal for those who want to play competitive. It would be interesting to see if they opt to make a competitive scene out of this game. The potential to customize your characters is quite cool, bringing much needed uniqueness to the old formula.
There is a Discord community in case you desire to delve more into the game. There is still no proper release date for this new title, but we can assume it will drop in 2025. Being an online game, we expect some sort of closed beta tests going on soon. Remember that while this is an indie, all Live Service games are prone to just closing down without reasons given. This can incur in the loss of value since you cannot enjoy the experience anymore.
If you are interested in this new title, you can wishlist it on Steam to give a much deserved boost to the developers behind it.
