Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

To celebrate the success of Dragon Ball Daima, the most recent adaptation of the iconic Dragon Ball anime series, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will add a new expansion later this year themed after the story, events and characters of Daima. The expansion will arrive in two separate parts with part 1 launching September 2025 and Part 2 currently scheduled for March 2026.

As the first part will take a while to release from now, it’s fair to assume that both of them will add a ton of contents into the game that’ll enable further replayability in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. So if you’ve enjoyed Dragon Ball Daima, this is something you definitely need to look out for.

Players who already own Dragon Ball Z Kakarot on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or PC can purchase the whole expansion as a downloadable DLC but if you’re on the PS5, you can get a physical Dragon Ball Z Kakarot–Daima Edition launching later this year that includes the base game along with the complete 2-part Daima Expansion all in one package. This is sure to be a treat for anyone who loves physical versions of videogames as well as fans of the new anime.

However, no release date has been announced for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot – Daima Edition’s physical version but you can currently pre-order both the PS5 and the Switch versions for $50 at Amazon right now.

The upcoming Daima expansion will feature characters and story events from the latest anime which sees Goku and his new friends Glorio, Shin, and Panzy journey through the Demon Realm in an exciting adventure to collect all the Dragon Balls so Goku can restore himself to his normal size and full power.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot came out back in 2020 and is a faithful re-telling of the original Dragon Ball Z anime, starting with the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Majin Buu Saga, while also adding a slew of new contents of it’s own. Receiving generally mixed reviews at release, Kakarot was a definite hit with over 8 million copies sold worldwide as of July 2024. The new expansion will possibly boost it’s sales even further with the addition of whole new characters into the game’s roster.
