Avowed reaches 5.9 million players amidst controversy

Avowed reaches a considerable player base and it is currently having success amidst the chaos and confusion. Controversies often stir a maelstrom of doubt upon players who aren’t particularly sure if a game is good, bad, or just average. Often times, controversies are politically motivated, and tend to muddy the waters even more. However, if we let numbers speak by themselves, we can see that Avowed is a successful roleplaying game. The world of Pillars of Eternity is a vast one, and we can finally see it under another perspective. We at Infinite Start will discuss this achievement in depth.

Avowed reaches almost 6 million

Much to the like of publicity, controversies ironically put the game in a spot of notoriety. This was a huge turning tables moment for those who participated in said controversy and didn’t want the game to succeed. The reality is that Obsidian is actually happy with the sales of numbers of Avowed, but so is Microsoft too. Being a trending topic helped the green giant avoid a miserable defeat by making the Xbox relevant again. How long will that last, we can’t say for sure, but Xbox has it pretty bad currently.

When there is a big fuss around a game, it is often difficulty to know what is true and what is not. If we speak about personal takes by looking at it, its just fine, nothing groundbreaking, and that’s totally okay. Maybe the $70 price point is not worth it, and in general, the $70 dollar price point in any game is ridiculous. The only thing augmenting the price point does is creating players who are more willing to get things for free.

Avowed reaches to the general public, the mass, but will it make an impact at all? We aren’t sure how much people will it retain, judging from the fact that this isn’t an online game. But retention is meaningless when quality is what matters.
