UK Government shoots down the “Stop Killing Games” petition

uk government shoots down

Seems like the UK is decided to not bother doing anything on unregulated gaming. Not to mention that today, the UK Government shoots down the “Stop Killing Games” petition. Gamers are distraught by this situation, and it seems like they will have to take matters into their hands. If the UK government won’t do anything about this and keep shunning it away, it is time to fix it ourselves. We at Infinite Start will tell you what you can do about this.

Don’t panic, organize

It is important to stay focused on these dark times. Instead of fighting your fellow gamer, one should rationalize what’s the cause behind the huge drop in quality. While one can come up with many theories, one thing is obvious and factual. Publishers have tarnished our hobby thanks to their greed and abuse against the working class. Games are rushed to oblivion to meet the unhinged expectations of publishers, therefore, they come broken on release.

Games are also shifting towards the dreaded Live Service model, when nobody has asked for such things. Developers are forced by triple A publishers to do so, shutting down and cancelling any attempt to make single player titles. Money is at the forefront, while quality isn’t even considered, and it is in fact, reviled. While no current government will help consumers in their times of woe, hope isn’t yet lost. The government fails, but united people do not.

Consumers have the power to not buy things, if they complain about the quality of the modern industry, then they shouldn’t buy anything. In fact, it is very easy to acquire most of the slop for free anyways, and even then its not worth it. People defend these slop jobs from left to right, because they paid for it. Cognitive dissonance is being exploited everywhere, so when you see someone defending an obvious slop job, is because they probably paid for it, they fell in the trap. Instead of belittling them, it is important to help them realize the traps of the industry.
