Just days after its PC launch on January 30, 2025, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has received a second hotfix, addressing major bugs, crashes, and optimization issues. The highly anticipated PC port—handled by Nixxes Software—had a rough start, with players reporting various technical problems. However, developers have been quick to respond, rolling out multiple fixes within the first few days.
What’s Fixed in the Latest Patch?
The new hotfix (version 1.202.0.0) aims to improve the game’s stability by fixing several major issues, including:
- Crash fixes and performance optimizations for a smoother gameplay experience.
- Achievement bug fixes that previously prevented some players from earning in-game trophies.
- Frame rate issues in the “Show Me New York” mission, which could cause progression to stall.
- UI improvements, particularly a bug that incorrectly displayed DualShock 4 controller button prompts when using Steam Input.
More Fixes Are on the Way
The rapid release of two hotfixes within four days suggests that the developers are committed to improving the PC experience. In a post on the game’s Steam page, the team stated that both QA and development teams are actively investigating additional issues, with more patches expected soon.
Despite the technical hiccups, the PC modding community has already begun experimenting with the game. One recent mod restores Peter Parker’s original face from the 2018 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man, proving that fans are already putting their own creative spin on the title.
With continued updates and optimizations, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC is likely to improve in the coming weeks. For now, players can expect more patches as Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software work to iron out the remaining issues. Of course, it clearly would take more than a few patches and a bunch of hopeful PC players to completely fix the game on PC, as backlash faced by Spider-Man 2’s PC port after its release featured complaints on serious graphical glitches, including in-game crashes every 10 minutes, and several others.
With Nixxes Software already releasing two massive hotfixes for Spider-Man 2 in less than a week, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if all bugs are wiped out in a month.
