Spider Man 2’s Patch 1 seems to have fixed many major issues

After the disastrous launch of Spider Man 2 on Steam, many people were disheartened with the terrible state that the game was in. Thankfully, it seems like Nixxes Software managed to save the game from Sony’s fate. Sony is hellbent in trying to control the gaming market by doing nefarious practices, such as forcing their online service on PC games. Spider Man is a beloved franchise by many Marvel fans, so it is good to see that they finally had their win this time. We at Infinite Start will cover the fixes.

Goodbye to the useless files

Many of the fixes included removing a lot of bloat files from the PC release. As stated in a previews news article from before, the game was plagued with a bunch of development tools still intact. This is terribly unprofessional of Sony, and it shows that they don’t have much care for the state they release PC games in. As long as console users keep giving them money to promote this disastrous development practices, they will keep doing them.

Thankfully, the heroes at Nixxes Software seem to have patched out the most nefarious bugs out of the game. There has been so much progress that now the current build seems to be playable from the box without many complications. There might still be some hiccups in performance here and there, but maybe those will also be ironed out with further patches. If the PC port wasn’t rushed to oblivion by Sony, perhaps we would have had a better release.

Other fixes, aside from the crashes, include graphical fixes to make the game look smoother and remove plenty of visual imperfections and bugs that were in the past version. We can hope that Nixxes keeps carrying Spider Man 2 forward with plenty of patches to make it the best port in the market. Spider Man 2 seems to be playable, but you may want to wait a bit more.
