Seed of Nostalgia a 90’s inspired JRPG is set to come to PC

The 90’s were the best time for gaming and entertainment media in itself. Artistic expression was the main goal when making games at that time. Seed of Nostalgia will try to bring the 90’s again to PC players, along with new sensibilities of the medium taken into account. The game looks very reminiscent to titles that came in the older days. We at Infinite Start will cover more details about this game after the break.

The 90’s are back

James Sloan, the developer of Seed of Nostalgia, along with Primitive Pixel, is trying to bring to life this ambitious project. For them, this is a work of passion to reminisce the older days when gaming was in the gold age of creativity and art. Back in the day, games were very unique and while there was focus on trying to get good sales, they did so by bringing quality. It was due to the fact that games were treated as art that the medium had so much quality in it, and it seems that Seed of Nostalgia will take this into account.

While it is important to keep into account the modern sensibilities of the industry, part of the reason these games were successful is that they let players explore by themselves. The game is set to keep in mind these modern sensibilities, we can hope they don’t go overboard with them and make the game a breeze. Seed of Nostalgia will, however, be packed with tons of customization to build your characters around.

Players will have the freedom to shape characters however they want. Unlocking powerful abilities through each of the 6 playable characters skill trees, and building tons of different synergies that accommodate to their classes. Equipment will also bring new abilities to characters, a feature that is very reminiscent to that of Final Fantasy IX’s equipment system.
