Capcom has stated that all physical copies of the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds will require an additional 15 GB update before the game can be played. And for players who have digitally pre-ordered the Action RPG title, they can download the latest update for Monster Hunter Wilds right now before the game goes live on February 28, Capcom has stated on a social media post.
Also, the social media community Does it Play which is known for supporting and advocating physical media has provided further insights into the new update and stated that it’s not really required for playing the game offline and is only aimed at improving or addressing some of the technical issues of Monster Hunter Wilds.
“Community members shared their first impressions with us and this update is NOT required to play offline. However, this patch looks to improve a few shortcomings on the technical/visual side that can certainly impact your enjoyment. We’ll let you know when we have more details.”
So if you don’t plan on accessing the online features of the game, it seems that you can skip the update entirely, at least for now. Also, Capcom has yet to announce or confirm any of the changes and improvements offered by the update or even a list of official patch notes, yet. But in any case, the size of the update isn’t exactly a whole lot, at least in today’s standards, which should make downloading it much easier and hassle-free on all platforms.
In other news of Monster Hunter Wilds, the actual length of it’s single player campaign is reported to be only 15 hours, which is pretty decent but nothing exceptional. However, the game offers tons of side quests and other challenges that will keep players occupied long after the main campaign is finished, so there’s actually plenty to play.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to arrive for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the PC platform on February 28.
