elden ring nightreign will drop

Elden Ring has been considered one of the best games to have dropped in the 2020’s era. From Software has announced that a spinoff is being worked on. Elden Ring Nightreign will drop more information with a beta test in the coming days. Many people are surprised at the departure from the previous title, this one being centered around Live Service. Being a spinoff, one can give it the benefit of the doubt, but after Sony tried to buy Kadokawa past year, things are looking grim. We at Infinite Start will cover what will happen.

Keep churning more

Elden Ring was a massive success that iterated on the formula of previous From Software titles. It is common for the publisher Bandai Namco to see it with dollar sign symbols in their eyes. Therefore, From Software was tasked with exploiting the Elden Ring Intellectual Property further, producing more and more games. Many people are disappointed with the announcement of Elden Ring Nightreign due to it being potentially more Live Service slop.

Live Service titles often end up abandoned and die in just some years, especially Japanese ones. This title in particular will be geared up to be a cooperative experience that can only be played in groups of 3, in case you don’t wanna go solo. Its director is not even Miyazaki himself, and instead, we have Junya Ishizaki at the helm.

He made the decision that: “The reason that we went with a three-player focus was that we wanted to retain that sense of accomplishment you get from battling a boss together or from conquering a map together and that sense of enjoyment, but we wanted to recreate that in a fresh way. And we felt like focusing on a three-player co-op experience would provide a brand new sense of accomplishment with it.”

This is a very odd decision, and it feels as if From Software was starting to lose some agency on what it can or cannot do. From Software is the last bastion of hope before triple A titles crumble completely, and it seems that its being tarnished.
