Xbox has confirmed an earlier confusion over World of Warcraft being added to the Game Pass. It was revealed that mentioning this was an error done in a Blizzard marketing email. It was promised with assurance that a follow-up email will be sent to subscribers who got the original email reassuring them that World of Warcraft was not coming to the subscription services.
The mishap had sent waves of excitement among fans of the 2004 MMORPG, especially given how long a subscription-based model for the game has been overshadowing it. This had created the possibility of an economical option for millions of users through Game Pass in the future. But it does leave some fans disappointed with Xbox’s clarification.
World of Warcraft and Its Future On Game Pass
Ten major expansions later, the last of which is The War Within, World of Warcraft remains a touchstone of cultural significance in gaming. Also, leakage hints at Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Heroes of the Storm, and Madden NFL 25 joining the service in February 2025.While they might need to wait longer—or forever—to see World of Warcraft on Game Pass, that does not make for lack of offerings available to players. As this isn’t the first time false information has been announced bya gaming company, there is clearly no need for exaggerated voiced-out frustrations about the issue.
Although that’s already the case, players are not to blame considering the gravity of the situation. In the end, this only reminds gamers that even a top gaming giant can mistakenly announce false information to fans.
