Poland based studio People can Fly has been confirmed to join The Coalition as co-developers for the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. In an official press release and partnership announcement, the Bulletstorm and Painkiller developer has stated that they’re “honored to return o the world of Gears of War”. The studio had previously worked as the lead developer for Gears of War: Judgment which was released back in 2013 while also serving as co-developer for the first three titles of the series namely Gears of War 1-3.
The studio has expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for Gears of War: E-Day and also for getting back to the Gears series which is widely considered as one of the most iconic and influential third-person shooters in history.
“Returning to collaborate on the next chapter of this legendary saga is both a privilege and an exciting opportunity to build upon the intense, visceral action and rich storytelling that fans have come to love. We are deeply grateful for our partners’ trust and support on this journey” – says PCF’s CEO, Sebastian Wojciechowski.
Guillaume Barry, Development Director at PCF has also stated that their team will be “pouring everything we have into creating an experience that will exceed expectations. While we can’t share more just yet, we’re eager for the day when we can show all the exciting things we’ve been working on”.
Having the veteran devs back for the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day definitely sounds promising for everyone who’s looking forward to the game, which is also shaping up to be one of the most ambitious titles in the series.
Gears of War: E-Day was first announced at the Xbox showcase during last year and is set to be a prequel to the original trilogy where fans will get to play much younger versions of the series’ protagonists such as Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. The original actors are also confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming game.
