The controversy began when Blizzard made the Cyber DJ Lucio skin available for purchase as part of a bundle, only to later reveal that players could earn it for free through Twitch Drops on February 12. Understandably, many felt misled, with some demanding refunds.
Acknowledging the mistake, Blizzard Community Specialist blizz_kaedi took to the r/CompetitiveOverwatch subreddit, confirming that the sale was unintentional and that all affected players have been automatically refunded. However, some users have reported delays in seeing the Overwatch Coins returned to their accounts, so it may take time for all refunds to process.
More Free Skins Coming Via Twitch Drops
The Cyber DJ Lucio skin isn’t the only Twitch Drop reward coming in February. Blizzard has also announced that the Flirty Flare Baptiste skin will be available in the same way, allowing players to earn it by watching Overwatch 2 streams.
