After the acquisition of Blizzard, the company has gone downhill, and even before that they were too. Due to that, its common to see talents fleeing from such working environments. Thanks to their know how and abilities, they sometimes create amazing works that makes us reminisce of old times. We at Infinite Start will cover what we know of the upcoming project from Ex-Blizzard Developers at Notorious Games.
Enter Legacy: Steel & Sorcery
Legacy: Steel & Sorcery is a new and upcoming Extraction Shooter. Described by its developers as PvPvE, this game will pit you against both enemies and real players. What is shown so far seems rather neat, and there seems to be potential. There is few swords and sorcery takes on the genre, and it can possibly make it more varied.
For the moment, the game will remain in Early Access for a while. According to the store page, it was already planned from the beginning to be this way. As much as users like to point out that Early Access can be a problem, it is important to know that feedback is needed to develop games of this kind.
It is important to notice, however, aside from the very peculiar name of the studio, that this title is another Live Service. To top it all, it seems to come with a very dangerous tool kit that shouldn’t be in your PC. That’s right, this game uses Easy Anti-Cheat, one of the most egregious Kernel Level anti cheating software out there.
Linux users will be unable to play this game due to such decisions, and it might be for the best. There’s a myriad of other games to play and wonderful single player stories to experience. But in case you are interested in Legacy: Steel & Sorcery, the game will drop in February 12th. However, it will have a price tag of $25, and you know what happens when a Live Service has a price tag, right?
