Elder Scrolls Online Update 45

Bethesda is gearing up to release Update 45 for The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), a major base-game patch accompanied by the new Fallen Banners dungeon DLC. Scheduled to launch on March 10 for PC/Mac and March 25 for Xbox and PlayStation, this update introduces a variety of fresh content, gameplay improvements, and visual upgrades.

New Fallen Banners Dungeon DLC

The Fallen Banners DLC adds two Alliance War-themed dungeons, offering new challenges for groups of four players:

  • Exiled Redoubt: Team up with Imperial Battlemage Lucilla to investigate the disappearance of soldiers amidst the chaos of the Alliance War. Players must infiltrate House Albus’s stronghold and uncover a conspiracy threatening Cyrodiil’s future.
  • Lep Seclusa: Defend the sacred Moth Priest sanctuary from Orpheon the Tactician and his army of deserters as they attempt to steal a powerful Elder Scroll.

Both dungeons feature unique storylines, boss battles, rewards, and achievements. Access to the Fallen Banners DLC requires an active ESO Plus™ membership, as it won’t be purchasable with Crowns at launch.

Update 45: Base-Game Enhancements

The free base-game patch, titled Update 45, introduces a host of updates:

  • Cyrodiil Champions Test Campaign: A new PvP mode locks players into predefined class builds, focusing on skill-based competition. Seven preset classes are available, and power levels are equalized to create a level playing field. This test is the first step toward refining Cyrodiil’s future PvP mechanics.
  • Starter Zone Refresh: Zones like Betnikh and Khenarthi’s Roost now feature improved visuals, including enhanced terrain transitions, updated lighting, and added props to make these areas feel more dynamic and lived-in.
  • Quality-of-Life Upgrades: Mount starting speeds have been increased, certain Craft Champion stars no longer require slotting, and Mundus Stone Boons now display clearer values and reminders.

As Tamriel faces mounting threats, players are called to take up arms in these new dungeons and experience the sweeping updates to ESO. For full details on Update 45 and Fallen Banners, check out the official announcement on Steam.
