Microsoft has officially announced that Avowed, the highly anticipated RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, will be delayed until February 18, 2025. This confirmation came through a tweet by Xbox, stating that the delay will give the game some breathing room and allow more time for development.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, emphasized the importance of giving Obsidian the best launch possible. He expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments and looked forward to players enjoying the game along with other upcoming titles.
Despite the delay, the rest of Xbox’s 2024 lineup remains strong. Upcoming titles include Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Starfield Shattered Space. Fans can expect to see more of Avowed during an August 23 livestream.
While fans may be disappointed by the delay, the additional time will ensure Avowed delivers a top-notch gaming experience.
