TimeSplitters Classic Game Set for Potential PS Plus Release

TimeSplitters Classic Game Set for Potential PS Plus Release

The beloved TimeSplitters series might soon make its way to PlayStation Plus Premium. A recent Taiwanese rating has sparked speculation about the classic PS2 game’s arrival on PS4 and PS5.

As noted by Gematsu, two versions of TimeSplitters have been listed on the Taiwanese ratings board for both consoles. Plaion, formerly known as Koch Media, is mentioned as the associated company. Plaion acquired the rights to TimeSplitters in 2018. Although a new game in the series was cancelled last year, this rating hints that the original TimeSplitters might soon be available on PS Plus.

Released in 2000 for the PS2, TimeSplitters quickly gained a following. It was followed by two sequels in 2002 and 2005. Many of the developers from Free Radical Design, the studio behind TimeSplitters, previously worked on GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark, making TimeSplitters a spiritual successor to these classics.

In recent years, concept art and gameplay footage from a cancelled new game surfaced online, revealing what might have been for the franchise. The inclusion of TimeSplitters in PS Plus would allow fans to revisit or discover this iconic series.

No official dates have been announced, but the listing has fueled excitement among fans. This news follows a similar leak in May when Star Wars: The Clone Wars was spotted ahead of its PS Plus release.
