Everything Announced During the June 18, 2024 Nintendo Direct

Earlier today Nintendo held their highly anticipated Nintendo Direct. This event included some anticipated reveals, and exciting details, including another look at Metroid Prime 4. To make things easier to navigate, every major announcement can be found below.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

After years of waiting Nintendo confirmed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is still coming to Nintendo Switch. The wait is expected to be over in 2025.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Nintendo revealed The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which is the franchises latest top-down entry. In this adventure players control Zelda, and through the assistance of a mysterious fairy named Tri need to save Hyrule.

Expect this and more when it releases Sept. 26. On the same day a special Hyrule inspired Nintendo Switch, which also includes 12-months of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Mario and Luigi are back in a new RPG titled Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this adventure the brothers set sail to Shipshape Island to best new foes, and meet familiar faces, including Peach and Bowser. All of this will be available on Nov. 7.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

The highly anticipated Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will release on June 27.

Dragon Quest I, II, and III HD-2D Remake

Square Enix confirmed HD-2D remakes for Dragon Quest I, II, and III. The first to release will be Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on Nov. 14, with the remainder coming sometime in 2025.

    Super Mario Party Jamboree

    Mario Party returns with Super Mario Party Jamboree. This entry boasts five new boards, over 110 minigames, which is the highest in the franchises history, and up to 20 players can frustrate one another online. Expect fierce competition on Oct. 17.

    Donkey Kong Country Returns HD

    Wii classic Donkey Kong Country Returns is back in HD. This version will include the original game players loved, plus the additional content added in the Nintendo 3DS version. It will release on Jan. 16, 2025.

    LEGO Horizon Adventures

    Sony’s upcoming LEGO version of Horizon was confirmed for Nintendo Switch. It will support solo play, and local, or online co-op when it launches this holiday season.

    Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics

    Capcom is releasing a new experience that includes seven beloved arcade classics, which includes Marvel vs. Capcom, and The Punisher. Expect this later this year.

    Darkest Dungeon II

    Popular indie sequel Darkest Dungeon II will launch on Nintendo Switch on July 15. Along with the base game, The Binding Blade DLC will also be available that includes new heroes and quest lines.

    Stray

    Charming cat game Stray will hope to find a home on Nintendo Switch this holiday season.

    Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero

    Nippon Ichi Software classic Phantom Brave is getting a sequel titled Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. It features over 50 characters, 300 skills to master, and so much more to see when it releases in 2025.

    Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game

    Lord of the Rings fans rejoice, as a new cozy life sim is set to take place in Middle-Earth. Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game allows players to build relationships, solve problems, and express themselves in a meticulously crafted experience set in the beloved universe. Expect it this holiday season.

    Nintendo Switch Sports Basketball Update

    Nintendo Switch Sports will receive a free update later this year to add basketball. It will support solo, or competitive play against up to four players.

    Disney Illusion Island: The Mystery in Monoth Update

    Disney Illusion Island owners will receive a free update later today that adds The Mystery in Monoth. This adventure allows up to four players to search for clues and solve this brand-new case.

    Metal Slug Attack Reloaded

    Metal Slug based tower defense game, Metal Slug Attack Reloaded, is now available on Nintendo Switch.

    Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

    Square Enix classic, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, will hit Nintendo Switch on Oct. 24.

    Fantasian Neo Dimension

    Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu have teamed up to release an enhanced version of Fantasian. This version will include new features, English and Japanese voice overs, and difficulty options. Expect a charming experience this winter.

    Farmagia

    Hiro Mashima, known for Fairy Tail, has teamed up with Marvelous to deliver a new adventure that combines fighting and farming on Nov. 1.

    Fairy Tail 2

    Fairy Tail 2 will offer a retelling of the beloved Alvarez Empire arc, which is the final chapter in the original narrative. Expect this adventure this winter.
