Today marks the start of Exoprimal‘s second season and with it comes a number of exciting new additions, including the highly anticipated Street Fighter collaboration.
Unfortunately, only Ryu is available for free as part of this event. This includes a unique skin for Deadeye, but does not extend to Deadeye α, Street Fighter logo decal, Hadoken charm and emote, and a stamp of Ryu doing his victory pose from Street Fighter II. To unlock these items players need to simply play Dino Survival. I believe it only requires five Exoprimal matches, so it’s great this is not a large time investment.
Guile and Chun Li, which are skins for Zephyr and Vigilant respectively, offer their own take on the aforementioned items for $6.99 a piece. While these additions are thoughtful and fun, like Guile gives a comb charm, it’s unfortunate to see them as separate purchases. Especially since many expected these to be the selling point for the new Survival Pass, which is also available for $9.99.
Collaboration disappointment aside, a number of exciting things were added with the new season of Exoprimal. Multiple characters received new skins, decals, and amor that were thoughtfully created. Comm wheel also received some delightful new emotes and stamps to communicate things in a fun way to your team.
A new Exoprimal map and mission are now available. The map, Ocean Platform, appears to be one of the maps that only appears on a single story stage. That said, at least the number of available options has increased further. Two new rigs and six additional modules were added to give the experience even more variety. Several of these are especially useful for higher tier activities, like there is a heal on medium or better dinosaur kills. Something that is great to either take pressure off healers or if you have enough skill, outright remove them.
Halloween and Christmas events were also confirmed. These are not currently live, Halloween will start on Oct. 20, but they look to add some spooky new cosmetics to play around with.
Along with new content, a sizable amount of changes were made to the gameplay experience. These include adjusting the new player experience to be more engaging, additional challenges like Durban appearing as a Savage Gauntlet boss, with the full list of changes below.

Exoprimal Patch Notes
Finally, database was updated so players can actually see how they’ve performed with each Exosuit. These include time played, damage dealt, and most notably, kills. This makes it easier for those going for the 100,000 kills trophy/achievement to get an idea of where exactly they stand. Unfortunately, it does require some math, but a ballpark estimate is a bit easier than simply having a percent, or in PlayStation’s case, nothing.
