As we slowly enter the Fall season, a number of top games are finally starting to release. This year we have some big titles and a couple notable little ones, making it stand out for a wide number of players. Especially those on PC as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered finally slings over. So with that being said, these are the most notable titles releasing in Aug. 2022.
There is no denying Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was one of the best titles to release on PlayStation 4. It included a fantastic story, good twists and amazing gameplay. It being an exclusive left some people in the dust, making the upcoming PC release so special. Plus, in addition to working on computers, it was confirmed to support Steam Deck as well.
For many Soul Hackers 2 is the most exciting new release this month. This Shin Megami Tensei spin-off took a page from newer entries and injected in some of the charm that made Persona stand out. While it will be interesting to see if the final product wows players, it certainly has a lot going for it.
The Saints finally return in Aug. and they’re looking pretty good. After a bumpy start, later updates really make Saints Row look to be a loving return to what made the franchise great. With a new coat of paint and ideas, it really could be one of the bigger titles this month. Plus, if you haven’t already, you might want to make your own boss and unlock two cosmetics before it official releases.
We’ve seen a lot of Souls-like games release over the last couple of years, with Thymesia being one of the better looking ones. Not only does it have the same vibe as the beloved genre, it looks to really offer something to give those looking forward to more Elden Ring something to look forward to.
After years of waiting Phantasy Star Online 2 hits PlayStation consoles in the west. Despite having a lot of content to both work through and events to catch up on, it’s an exciting moment for a lot of players. We just hope those looking forward to it think it’s worth the wait.
Square is bringing Saga Frontier 2 back, making it a great title for anyone who missed it on the first go around. With some unique ideas and quirky gameplay it isn’t quite Live A Live, but it certainly has its own charm.
Another blast from the past is a revamp of the classic Pac-Man World title. While PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC isn’t the most notable title from the past, it was certainly a charming entry that tried to do some interesting things with one of the most iconic gaming series of all time.
The latest entry in the Prinny Presents series brings La Pucelle: Ragnarok and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure to modern consoles. While the other titles were built after the foundation Disgaea laid, these show the ideas that would eventually result in the beloved franchise coming to be. Not to mention showing one of the most used guest character in the NIS universe.
If you’re looking for a rather substantial release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection combines practically every turtle game into one great, but frustrating, collection. With so many classics there are sure to be a lot of great memories for returning fans or those showing the next generation.
