Surprise! The heavily-anticipated Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 remaster has been given a release date, and it’s coming to modern systems very soon. The first entry received the remaster treatment mid-2021 (with a PC version following in December). Now the beloved 2004 sequel is following suit, this time with a simultaneous July launch across all platforms.
The classic ARPG boasts five classes — barbarian, monk, necromancer, rogue and cleric — that will hack, slash and cast their way through more than 80 monster-filled levels. Like the original, local 2-player cooperative play is supported for those who wish to be transported back to the days of couch-co-op. Those on Steam can take advantage of the Remote Play feature to transform the mode into an online co-op experience, one that will far exceed that of the Dark Alliance reboot.
Additionally, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 has been Steam Deck verified. If you have secured one of Valve’s popular handhelds, you can take this classic on the go. If you don’t have the portable PC, there is always the Nintendo Switch version for the same mobility.
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 will release on July 20, 2022 on PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
