Metroid Dread update adds new difficulty modes

Nintendo and developer MecrurySteam announced today that a new Metroid Dead update is available today that adds two new difficulty modes.

The two new difficulty modes being added to Metroid Dread are for hardcore gamers who like a challenge and for those who are new to the series. The Rookie and Dread Mode are available today upon downloading the latest update.

Additionally, Nintendo will also be releasing a second free update in April that adds a Boss Rush mode.

Here’s an overview of the two new updates, via Nintendo:

A free update launches today for Metroid Dread! Getting hit even once causes a game over in the brutal “Dread Mode” difficulty. And if you’re new to the Metroid series, take advantage of increased recovery with the newly added “Rookie Mode” difficulty.

A second free update in April will add a Boss Rush mode, in which you’ll battle bosses continuously, one at a time.
