Diablo II: Resurrected – How to Increase Inventory Space

When it comes to loot-driven RPGs, the real battle is sometimes against those restrictive inventory slots rather than the bloodthirsty enemies lying in wait. Diablo II: Resurrected is brimming with exciting loot, making it difficult to suppress the inner digital hoarder in many of us.

The issue is compounded for those who decide to start frantically stuffing Charms of various sizes into their inventory to stack buffs. Those Grand Charms can sure take up quite a bit of space. If you’re like me — I’d say there’s a strong chance you are since you’re reading this — you are likely in dire need of an inventory space increase.

The answer, unfortunately, isn’t as straightforward as you might hope.

How to Increase Inventory Space

Sadly, there is no option to directly increase the inventory grid available for each character. That said, there are tips we can provide to help free up those precious square spaces to make room for extra loot.

One of the easiest ways to maximize inventory space is by using the generous player stash. This town hub-bound chest has multiple slots, both personal and shared, that can store items that are not immediately necessary. Offload those excess goods and continue hoovering up items without worry. A Tome of Town Portal will expedite this process when progressing through the ever winding dungeon layouts.

Another feature that can be taken advantage of is that of the hireling. Employing a mercenary not only offers up extra assistance in those critical battles, these NPC helpers can also act as bipedal storage chests. Load them up with whatever their poor back can carry.

The Horadric Cube, an item obtained in Act 2, can be used as a smart storage tool. The item takes up a 2×2 slot in the player inventory, but it magically opens to reveal a 3×4 interior. That means more treasures can be tucked away in this helpful cube for those long journeys.

The last tip involves direct management of the inventory features. Remember that there are secondary weapon slots that can be equipped with extra swords, shields, and so on. Additionally, keep an eye on the belt you are using. Belts can eventually hold up to 16 potions, usefully clearing out those unstackable potions from the finite inventory space.

Go forth equipped with this invaluable knowledge and fret not over the non-upgradable inventory limit any longer.

Diablo II: Resurrected is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
