Culdcept The First is coming this year on PC, hopefully this port is good enough to justify the purchase since its handled by City Connection. What matters the most is the fact that this is the first time we will be able to play the first game in the Culdcept series in English, we really need to support this revival. For those who don’t know, Culdcept has been a thing since 1997, and it will reach its 30th anniversary next year, this innovative card game decides to fuse itself with a board game resulting in a very interesting combination with wacky combos that can only come from a video game like this.

The Nintendo Direct also revealed that we are going to have more things related to Culdcept, also coming to PC. Culdcept Begins is clearly an entry made to be the starting point for anyone who wishes to get into it. The series has an enduring legacy, and most of the games always feel similar to each other due to the nature of being treated as a digital board game. We don’t know if this version of the game will have access to online, but Culdcept Begins will most certainly allow players to battle each other.
Culdcept the First has been preserved by announcing this, because no matter what happens to the physical copies people will be able to give it a spin again in modern systems. More companies should care enough to try and do preservation of classic games, because there is a ton of things that piracy has preserved that official companies didn’t. City Connection should step up their game when providing classics like this, and once its out I’m willing to review their efforts if they have put some. Culdcept The First seems to be coming in July 30th of 2026.
