Everstone Studio Details Its Ambitious January Roadmap for Where Winds Meet

Everstone Studio is kicking off the new year with a packed January 2026 roadmap for its wuxia epic, Where Winds Meet. After successfully launching the title on mobile and expanding its landmass by a third, the developer will continue to provide weekly updates that appeal to both solo players and competitive guilds.

The month begins on January 4 with a major change in the game’s progression cap. Players can finally raise the World Level to 10 in Solo Play, which unlocks the “Unbound” state. For those interested in group challenges, the same date features the launch of Hero’s Realm: Sorrow of Mortalbound, a 10-person endgame raid that tests coordination and martial skills at a high level.

Check out the Winds of January:

📅Version 1.2 arrives Jan 8 (UTC)

Mid-month updates will enhance storytelling and competition. Update 1.2 is set for January 8, introducing the Kaifeng Campaign and new Legacy Quests. This update also adds a new threat: the Nameless General, a new World Boss. By January 16, the focus will shift to large-scale social play with the introduction of 30v30 Guild vs. Guild battles. This move toward large PvP encounters suggests that Everstone aims to build a lasting competitive community alongside its single-player features.

The last part of January emphasizes exploration and celebration. On January 22, players can explore the “Nine Mortal Ways Base” instance, soon followed by the “Whispers Beneath the Moon” story arc on January 25. To wrap up the month, the studio will celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Year of Abundance and Season-End Dash events starting January 29. These events are expected to resemble previous celebrations, providing players with limited-time cosmetics and mini-games. This aggressive content schedule reflects the studio’s performance in December, highlighting its commitment to keeping players engaged through a high volume of content.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
