Deus Ex Remaster just got delayed to an unspecified date, and fans are very worried because pre-orders for the game have been refunded on PC and other systems. This is never a good sign and many assume that the game is just getting cancelled and will probably never come. At the same time, many people celebrate the fact that this is happening, they didn’t like the looks of the remaster and it wasn’t loyal enough to the source material. Those who were expecting the game are sad, but surprisingly they weren’t many, proving the trend of gamers not really buying remasters.
Deus Ex Remaster probably cancelled
Dropping the release date and delaying it further without specifications is very odd. This is what the developers have to say about it: “Thank you to the community for your feedback following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered. We’ve listened to what you said, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on Feb. 5, 2026. We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes. All existing preorders will be fully refunded. Thank you again for your patience and support.”
This was posted on Aspyr’s Twitter account, and it seems that a possible reality is that the game has been cancelled or it just went back to the drawing board. Trying to respect an art style is crucial to properly sell a remaster to people, and it seems that we won’t be getting anything due to the failure to do so now. Hopefully another studio can take the helm because Aspyr has been blundering a lot lately, some even say that it would be a good idea to give it to Nightdive Studio instead, but we might never know the truth about what will happen.
