Widely cherished as one of the best entries in the long running franchise, the remake or a modernized version of the fan favorite Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is hugely anticipated for all fans of the series especially those who had played the original game back in 2013. And if you’re one of them, it seems you don’t have to wait much longer as according to a new report from Insider Gaming, we might be getting Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake before the end of March next year. To be more precise, the remake version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag may very well make it’s way during the week of March 23, 2026.
Also, per the latest financial results of Ubisoft, one particular title that’s currently “unannounced” in the company’s official slate of games to arrive in 2026, could indeed be the remade version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag that’s scheduled to arrive during the last week of March. However, the publisher is yet to confirm if the remake actually exists or is currently under development, but years of internal leaks, hints from the original game’s voice actor and other credible sources do point that the Black Flag remake has indeed been in the works and will arrive as early as next year.
The upcoming Remake will also reportedly contain a significantly overhauled combat system with an emphasize on RPG mechanics and gears that lean heavily into the more modern entries of the series like the post-Assassin’s Creed Origins batch of titles. However, the Black Flag Remake is also reported to cut out the modern day segments which were present in the original game, a move that’s sure to upset many players as those missions had a significant impact on the overarching narrative of the franchise and connected the past events with the present day happenings.
While at the same time, the Remake is reported to include bonus story contents to the Edward Kenway sections such as additional story missions focused on pirate Mary Read which didn’t make it to the original Black Flag in 2013.
