Battlefield Redsec is about to get it’s own competitive flavor as EA has announced a new tournament circuit for the free-to-play offshoot of Battlefield 6, titled the Battlefield Redsec Elite Series with the chance to win more than $1 million in terms of prize money. This is sure to get all veterans and sharpshooters geared up to enter the competition which kicks off December 10 and will have 600 players all the way from E-Sports Pros to enthusiastic newcomers waiting for a chance to earn their break in the E-Sports subculture.
The ones participating in the Battlefield Redsec Elite tournament are a total of fifty squads, handpicked by their team captains who were invited by EA, from three regions of the world including America, EMEA, and APAC will battle across six Redsec battle royale matches online. The tournament will have a kind of elimination-based knockout segment where the top eight squads will eventually make their way to Battlefield Redsec‘s Gauntlet mode with the entire format taking place over the course of three days.
There will also be an Open Series for players who want to enter the tournament and will start from December 12 where the winning teams will get a chance to compete in the Elite Series with other pro-level players. Registrations are underway through Repeat.gg with more details regarding the tournament available on EA’s official site.
The free-to-play, battle royale based Redsec essentially serves as a springboard to Battlefield 6 by giving the casual FPS playerbase a taste of the core Battlefield experience. Featuring many hallmark design elements of the series such as vast and expansive maps that reward tactical playing, immersive and realistic FPS action by means of fully destructible environments and more help to gradually draw the non-Battlefield players into the mainline entries of the series. And EA’s upcoming tournament is a great strategic way that’s sure to attract legions of non-Battlefield players or players more accustomed to other online multiplayer shooters, gravitate to Redsec and eventually step into titles like Battlefield 6.
