Steam refunds people very rarely, this time it is Destiny 2, Bungies last stand and relevant title. Players who have more than 2000 hours logged into the game are elegible for a refund provided they live on a country where having access to Destiny 2 is limited. Bungie keeps taking big loses and it seems that things will get worse for the copyright abusing company, who don’t really have much of a shred of care in the world to how their players feel about things. They will nickle and dime you by selling stolen content to you at a premium price and they will feign ignorance to the damages caused.
Steam refunds many players now
Maybe these refunds are coming from Valve’s pockets themselves, but perhaps justice can finally hit Bungie for all the atrocities they have committed on the industry. Bad games, sure, many do those and there’s plenty of bad games out there, but at least there has been effort put into making them, while Bungie on the other hand decided to rob artists of their hard work and profit from it. Not to mention that they also lie about their live service content structure, by doing very dumb things like the content Vault, which they apparently cannot access.
People missed out, Bungie used to do things well but they are a shadow of their former selves now, and Sony seems to be cutting marketing funding to Marathon, a new live service project nobody asked for. Bungie blocked access to Destiny 2 in a number of regions including Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, which means that if you live in those countries you can still access a refund for the damages caused, because pouring time into a game you can’t play anymore is insanity, and Stop Killing Games needs to act quick over these sort of rugpulls.
