Dynasty Warriors is a classic and it has been with us for a quarter of a century. It truly is amazing to see franchises lasting this long, because some of us feel as if they came out yesterday. Players of every ilk know about this classic, which has been kinda overshadowed by time and other entries, if you love games where you hack and slash tons of enemies at the same time, this one would be the predecessor to them. Koei Tecmo has been inventing a ton of new things, especially when they were just Tecmo back in the days. We at Infinite Start will celebrate 25th years of this series.
Dynasty Warriors turns 25!
Dynasty Warriors is a game many have experienced growing up with the PS2, while I wasn’t the biggest fan of the genre being primarily a JRPG nerd I did find that it has its merits going on. The trailer shows us a recompilation of every game through the years, and it concludes with announcing a DLC for the current entry in the series, Dynasty Warriors Origins. Along with it, a remaster is being developed and they aren’t going to reveal which game they are remastering yet. There’s no information about the DLC either, it truly is a mystery.
Fans of the franchise have been starving for new things, but there’s also other franchises that Koei Tecmo needs to revive, such as Monster Rancher, which despite being niche deserves more recognition for the things it did for the monster raising genre as a whole. Koei Tecmo has some plans for new games in their IPs, so maybe players of every ilk can be satisfied with an ample catalogue of genres to play. Financial reports show that Koei Tecmo is indeed interested in resurrecting various franchises aside from supporting their more popular ones.
