The newly unveiled futuristic action-adventure game, MindsEye, is set to do things in a much different way. The game’s director, Leslie Benzies, and veteran of the Grand Theft Auto series, in the course of a recent interview with Games Industry Biz, has given a good reason behind the game’s relatively shorter length of its main story, which is approximately 20 hours.

Benzies refers to this design decision as an intentional attempt to allow players to most fully enjoy the narrative of MindsEye without being consumed by the many distractions inherent in modern entertainment. In the midst of an era of divided attention spans across wide ranges of media, the design decision to create a more intense yet streamlined core experience reflects a pragmatic insight into player engagement. This philosophy tries to create a full and satisfactory experience, not an over-the-top one that can turn out to be incomplete for most.

Benzies’s past experience has had an effect on MindsEye, and individuals have necessarily compared the two as a consequence. While similarities are unavoidable due to his well-known history, it is clear that MindsEye is breaking new ground in the action-adventure genre. The game’s futuristic environment and narrative promise something different from well-trodden methods of his previous experience.

With regard to its market release, MindsEye’s marketing campaign has been relatively brief. This, as explained, is mainly a result of the project’s early start-up costs. Still, players can look forward to good support after the launch, with new content patches planned as a move towards expanding the game universe and providing long-term value long after its initial release. This dedication to future growth supports a long-term MindsEye vision, with its more defined central story supported by construction experiences.
