Windows is losing the battle against SteamOS, Valve’s own Linux distribution. This Arch based distribution is optimized for gaming in mind, and it packs quite a devastating punch to the ambitions of Windows. Running smooth in pretty much every system, SteamOS dominates the gaming competition day by day. The days of Windows are counted, as the majority of the Operating system is mainly used to just play games. You can pretty much do everything on Linux now, aside from some very niche things no real person does or plays. If you are still on Windows, there’s plenty of ways to make the jump.

Windows is losing users

The more Windows tries to push for “AI” garbage, the more people will keep doing a proper switch. If you somehow want to drain all the water in the world generating useless and fake traced images, you can still do so in Linux, but its completely optional and for you to install. SteamOS is mainly optimized for gaming as it improves the kernel of the system so it can run the latest games at an advantage.

The age of the Windows closing is coming, after all, we all know that all computers become useless when someone opens Windows. Serious gamers were already gaming in the Steam Deck, which was the first place where SteamOS was dropped, along with other portable systems. As the days go by, Microsoft keeps doing terrible decisions that drives their customer base away. This in turn will cause that the marketshare for Linux ends up rising, which means that more people will be using the better operating system, regaining their freedom.

In case you want to get adventurous and acquire even better results, check out CachyOS, an Arch based distribution that has even better improvements when it comes to gaming. You can even configure the kernel yourself if you so desire.
