Suikoden

Suikoden is one of those big 90s JRPG‘s that many players remember owning. While the franchise might not be as big as Final Fantasy was in the west back then, its still a cult classic. Apparently, this version of the remake will be based on the enhanced content one can find in the Sega Saturn ports. Sega Saturn ports often had more content that the base PS1 versions, however, that contain sometimes went against the will of the original creator. Castlevania Symphony of the Night is an example of a Saturn port that disrespects the original PS1 version. We at Infinite Start will cover this new development.

Suikoden is back for once

Suikoden is a tale about rebellion against tyranny, and it is inspired in part by Chinese culture. The legend of the 108 Stars, or the 108 Heroes as it is in China, is a long story from an ancient book called Water Margin written in the 14th Century of China. The protagonist you play as, is actually one of those 108 stars. The main draw of Suikoden, is the fact that those remaining 107 can all be recruited through the game. Doing so is very hard however, and some might fall into the guide dang it territory, but its a lot of fun to try and figure out how to do so.

Games back then were about exploration, no need to rush and use guides that spoil the game for you. Suikoden has tons of content and different party configurations one can access depending on how they play. Of course, a doubt might come to mind for those who make video games, how do you balance 107 different playable characters? The answer is that you don’t. Chaos is part of the formula for these old games, and discovering different party configurations is what makes it fun. If you are interested, the game will release in 2 days from now on.
