Japanese toy manufacturer Takara Tomy has announced The Legend of Zelda Historical Charms+, a new series of gachapon capsule accessories set to release across Japan in October 2026. The collection features twelve Triforce-shaped keychains, each showcasing artwork from a different entry in Nintendo’s long-running action-adventure franchise. Highlights of the upcoming lineup include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, marking another official merchandise appearance for the 2002 GameCube classic as part of the series’ ongoing 40th-anniversary celebrations.
Priced at 300 yen (approximately $2) per capsule, the Historical Charms+ series spans decades of franchise history, placing The Wind Waker alongside titles ranging from the 1986 original to 2024’s Echoes of Wisdom. Each 3.5-centimeter accessory functions as a functional marker or keychain, updating a design concept Takara Tomy previously explored in a six-piece collection released in May 2017.
While The Wind Waker remains famous for its distinct cel-shaded art style and oceanic setting, its inclusion here serves primarily as a retrospective node within Nintendo’s broader anniversary push. The wider collection encompasses Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, the Nintendo Switch remake of Link’s Awakening, and Tears of the Kingdom.
The gachapon release joins several high-profile anniversary initiatives scheduled for late 2026, including themed hardware and licensed collectibles from global partners like Hasbro. While Takara Tomy has not confirmed plans for an international release, past collections suggest these items will remain exclusive to Japanese capsule machines and secondary import markets for the foreseeable future.
