Happy Wheels is making a return to form with its Steam release, I never expected this would happen since this is a game that thrived in the space of web browser games and it didn’t make sense to move it to other places. However, now that this has happened we can happily say that the game has been preserved. This is a classic of PC gaming many people remember because it was around the time when Flash Games were all the rage. A cool thing you could do in Happy Wheels is create your own levels, which means that there is millions upon millions of creations to explore.
Happy Wheels is coming to Steam
These millions of levels are something that will carry over to the Steam version, and you can still create more levels if you so desire. This game is old, almost 2 decades old if we keep going some years more, which makes me feel really old if you ask me. I never would have thought we would see this happen, but after Happy Wheels came to Steam anything can happen in my mind. Icy Tower is another one that will be releasing soon, and its another classic older than Happy Wheels.
I wonder what will come next, because there is a ton of games like this that deserve to be saved. Thankfully Flash games are mostly preserved in the Flash Archive, and you can play all of them if you desire, these are very important pieces of gaming history. Perhaps in the future Steam might open themselves to do something related to this, because despite these games being competition to Steam back in the day, it would be a good time to make a new ally and expand the takeover of the PC market. We will see what happens in the future.
