Rockstar Games and Take-Two are undeniably going through some unexpectedly rough times after the recent spew of gameplay leaks made by an entity named Cyberleek who could be one person or even a group. The string of unofficial gameplay footage has reportedly cost publisher Take-Two a staggering $2 billion in terms of overall value along with a small decline in it’s stock price and as a response, the company has issued multiple subpoenas requesting information from both Microsoft and Discord to track down those responsible for the leaks and based on the latest report, those have been approved by a NY Court as well.
However, Rockstar has also confirmed that they’re not going to change the upcoming gameplay premiere that’s scheduled for Netflix on 27 August or make any change in their overall marketing strategy for GTA 6. A new report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has also shed lights on Rockstar’s internal strategy after the recent leaks where it’s said that management in the studio is now at a “all hands on deck” situation but still there’s no plan to delay the Netflix showcase or even the game itself.
In the video below, Schreier has detailed what’s currently going on inside Rockstar as a direct result of the gameplay leaks:
In other news of GTA 6, Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet has confirmed that they’re currently helping Rockstar and Take-Two protect their IP.
