The recent spree of GTA 6 leaks from Cyberleek (could be one person or even a group) has managed to put a dent on Take-Two as the company has reportedly lost a staggering $2 billion in terms of overall value along with a small decline in it’s stock price. And as a response, the publisher has now issued multiple subpoenas in a federal court requesting information from both Microsoft and Discord which would help them zero in on the leaker(s) who is responsible for the spew of gameplay leaks of the upcoming GTA 6.
And according to the supboenas, both companies are requested to provide internal documents and records to Take-Two by September 4 in order to assist the publisher in identifying and detecting the alleged leaker(s).
“Take-Two, through its counsel of record, has submitted a sworn declaration confirming that the purpose for which the DMCA subpoena is sought is to obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers, and that such information will only be used for the purpose of protecting Take-Two’s rights.”
“All identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server(s) listed below during the time period from June 1, 2026 to present; and for those accounts, provide any associated device/telemetry records where one or more of the tool/file artifacts below were present on the system. For each returned account, provide: the account ID, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, linked connections (Google/Xbox/etc.), any associated device identifiers (MachineGuid/MSA), and content related to Grand Theft Auto (‘GTA’), Rockstar or Cyberleek from their OneDrive account.”
Interestingly, one of the Discord servers mentioned in the filing is ‘discord.gg/darkviperau,’ which is described as the DarkViperAU editors’ server. DarkViperAU is known as the online name of Australian GTA content creator Matthew “Matt” Judge, who currently has over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and has also posted in-depth breakdowns of the leaked gameplay videos of GTA 6 this week.
Meanwhile, an extended look at the upcoming GTA 6 is coming to Netflix on August 27 and will be made available for everyone to see on Youtube later that day, so if you have a subscription to Netflix, you’ll be able to get a first look at some of the features of the most anticipated videogame of all time when it premiers on the platform at 3 PM ET on August 27, and will be available on Rockstar’s own Youtube channel at 9 PM ET on the same day.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
