Modder LJBreeze is developing an ambitious new Borderlands 2 mod that imports playable Vault Hunters directly from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Popular content creator JoltzDude139 revealed early footage of the project online, showcasing a functional build of Nisha the Lawbringer complete with her original character model, custom animations, and signature skill trees active in the game.
While previous character mods for Borderlands 2 typically replaced existing Vault Hunters like Salvador or Maya, this project aims to add the full six-character Pre-Sequel cast directly alongside the original roster. Following Nisha’s implementation, LJBreeze plans to port Athena, Wilhelm, Claptrap, Jack’s Body Double, and Aurelia into the campaign.
Planned Vault Hunter Roster Additions:
• Nisha (Currently in active development)
• Athena
• Wilhelm
• Claptrap
• Doppelganger (Jack)
• Aurelia
Achieving this requires extensive technical work. Because Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel run on slightly different engine builds, assets and skill mechanics cannot simply be copy-pasted across titles. Each character’s logic, action skills, and passive tree interactions must be painstakingly recreated or adjusted to function stably within the base Borderlands 2 framework.
Expansion Beyond the Initial Borderlands 2 Roster
”The plan is to add at least all Vault Hunters from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel first, including the DLC ones. From there, the mod could even add more Vault Hunters from the franchise or custom ones.”

If the foundational Pre-Sequel ports succeed, the developer intends to explore bringing over additional Vault Hunters from across the entire franchise, or potentially introducing entirely custom fan-made classes down the line.
The project remains in active development with no set release date. However, the prospect of taking Pre-Sequel builds into Borderlands 2‘s expansive endgame raiding content has already generated significant interest across the modding community.
