Nvidia GeForce NOW gets amazing Linux support in 2026

Nvidia GeForce Now

Nvidia GeForce NOW might sound like a very interesting concept, but in reality its just another brick in the dystopian nightmare house we live in. It allows us to play PC games straight from the cloud by just paying a subscription, but there is a ton of catches to this, it pretty much is renting the game, not to mention that internet speeds are a very important thing to keep into consideration. Any delay on internet speeds can even ruin your single player game session thanks to a missing input, or even lag. The fact that some people willingly pay for this service feels like a slap to all gamers.

Nvidia GeForce NOW sucks

It might suck but it also works on Linux now, the big issue is that Nvidia drivers on Linux tend to be quite finnicky because they don’t wanna support Open Source projects. It truly feels like the worst of both worlds, but people can just opt to ignore this thing entirely. Even getting a subscription for free to this service sucks a ton because you don’t really choose what you wanna play, the catalogue is pretty limited. Not to mention that accepting this just puts you one step further from owning things, so Nvidia GeForce NOW is pretty much a bad thing.

Nvidia GeForce NOW was a concept that already existed for a long while but it didn’t manage to catch on until recent years have happened. Now this sends ripples through the industry because everyone wants to become a sort of “Netflix” for games, as cursed as that idea sounds. Once every big platform manages to transition to that system, they will pretty much own and restrict those things you used to own in the past. Not to mention that you will only be able to play what they allow you to, and for a limited time too.
