Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the next huge mainline entry in the long running open world action adventure franchise which is set to bring a refreshingly different flavor of experience into the series by focusing on witchcraft and persecution. Touted to be the darkest entry to have ever emerged from the Assassin’s Creed series, Codename Hexe may not arrive for at least a full year, according to an industry insider.
Reliable leaker NateTheHate was recently asked about the possible release window of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, to which he has replied the following: “Game won’t launch until second half of 2027, at earliest. They don’t need to rush a reveal/announcement.”
And one of the possible reasons why Ubisoft may want to take their sweet time with the next Assassin’s Creed is cause of Rockstar’s open world behemoth Grand Theft Auto 6 which is currently scheduled to launch in November this year and once it comes out, it’s likely going to storm the entire industry in a way that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen and can severely disrupt release schedules of many other upcoming titles along the way. Make no mistake, no other game in history has managed to build up the colossal amount of hype that GTA 6 has, which can totally obscure all other titles for a really long time after it’s release.
Overall, the release of GTA 6 can very well create a situation throughout the industry that’s impossible to predict as to how it’s going to impact all other games in 2027. And so in that light, it’s perfectly sensible for Ubisoft to keep polishing their next Assassin’s Creed for as long as they need cause after GTA 6 comes out, it’s highly unlikely that anyone would even want to play anything else.
In other news of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, it was rumored a couple months ago that Ezio Auditore, who is easily the most beloved and memorable protagonist in the entire franchise, will be present in some form in the game.
