The release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of IO Interactive’s latest James Bond title 007 First Light has been leaked ahead of any official announcement and if you’re on the handheld console, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer to play the game on-the-go. As per a new listing of 007 First Light on the Amazon Japan website, the release date for the third person action adventure title on the Switch 2 is September 16 which was also spotted by the GamingLeaksAndRumors forum in Reddit, so there’s little to no reason for doubting the launch date.
And given that Amazon Japan has actually gone live with the release date, an official confirmation from IO Interactive can’t be far away.
In other news of 007 First Light, the first post-launch content update for IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is available right now, bringing whole new Tac-Sim missions along with a string of new contents geared to increase the overall playability of the James Bond title in many ways. The third person action adventure title’s first content update comes with two new Escalation missions, three new weapons, plus a new outfit, along with an enormous patch that includes fixes and improvements for “over 200 issues” in 007 First Light, as reported by the community.
IO Interactive has also officially removed Denuvo from the game recently which means it’s practically DRM-free right now and that’s a great news for all players cause Denuvo is notoriously known for affecting overall performance and introducing various quirks and restrictions into the experience.
007 First Light came out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on 27th May and swiftly became the highest rated James Bond title in the last 15 years, or even more. Selling past over 3 million copies in it’s first month and garnering a highly impressive 87 Metacritic score, developer IO Interactive’s 007 First Light shines vividly and is certainly the best Bond game in several decades.
